Dr. Sasan Karimi, Deputy for Political and International Affairs of the Presidential Strategy Office, who is currently attending the Davos meeting with Mohammad Javad Zarif, made the following assessment in an interview with Shargh:

"Because the radical currents and foreign opposition do not define any interests for themselves in negotiations, interaction, diplomacy, and opening relations with Iran, they will naturally seriously oppose any dialogue, whether in the form of negotiations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or in the form of the presence of representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran in meetings such as the Davos meeting, and will launch their attacks and attacks."

This is why the lecturer at the Faculty of World Studies at the University of Tehran notes: “Iran’s strong presence at the Davos meeting, the World Economic Forum, the Munich Security Conference, the Doha Summit, and other such meetings is essential to avoid Iran’s political and diplomatic isolation, and at the same time, it will allow Iran to have a more serious entry into regional and global trends commensurate with its status and weight.”

Regarding how Mohammad Javad Zarif correctly explained Iran’s positions from the Davos meeting podium, Sasan Karimi emphasizes the following point, while referring to the holding of numerous and frequent meetings at the highest levels with Dr. Zarif as the Vice President for Strategy: “Dr. Zarif was warmly welcomed by the officials present, both due to his legal status and personal capacities, as he is a well-known figure to the Davos meeting invitees.” From the perspective of this senior international analyst: “This issue will create a very good opportunity, given Dr. Zarif’s capacity to correctly explain the situation and position of Iran and at the same time to correctly explain the view of the 14th government and the broad positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Therefore, the Deputy Vice President for Political and International Affairs, Strategic Affairs, assesses “Dr. Zarif’s intelligent actions at the Davos summit as neutralizing all the destructive movements of the opposition currents that seek to “securitize” the image of the Islamic Republic of Iran and ultimately isolate Tehran in the region and the world.” With such a reading, the lecturer at the Faculty of World Studies at the University of Tehran believes: “Dr. Zarif’s presence at the open and closed forums of the Davos summit, as well as his successive meetings with officials from various countries, will completely erase the false image of a “weak and dangerous” Iran.”
