In addition, today, as we know, Europe, and especially its three major countries, in most cases take a stricter stance towards Iran than the United States.
He added: The tone of the paragraph related to Iran is dry and contains all the points. In addition, the reference to the recent agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia is very minor and brief in this statement and is immediately followed by another warning about maritime considerations. In fact, cooperation with the Agency and the agreement with Saudi Arabia are mentioned in the text, but they are not central and the tone of the text is not softened by these two issues.
In response to the question that with this statement it is believed that Europe and the United States are seeking to smooth the negotiations again, how do you predict the scenario after this, Karimi said: We do not have information about the behind-the-scenes policy, at the same time, it does not seem that Europe has much support even behind the scenes with the United States' position on Iran. In any case, the United States and especially Europe at the current stage and considering all aspects, if they want to negotiate with the Islamic Republic of Iran, they have emphasized their strict position and insist on negotiating with Iran under pressure. This is, of course, related to both our delay and our attempt to humiliate the negotiating parties (especially the US and Europe) over the past two years, and to the accusation of Iran’s participation in strengthening Russia in the Ukrainian war, which has of course been denied by Iran.
In response to the question that, considering the agreement reached between Iran and the IAEA, in your opinion, is this statement another green light from the West to Iran to conclude the negotiations or is it a different issue, he said: No. The tone of the statement does not contain a green light. The West’s usual position has been to resolve this problem through negotiations and insist on a return to the implementation of the JCPOA by all parties, which has been repeated now. Especially since in the current situation where non-public channels are not closed, there is no need for a green light in the statement.
This international affairs analyst stated: In addition, this statement was issued by seven countries, some of whom are outside the JCPOA revival talks, and it is not limited to the nuclear issue. This may be considered Iran's attempt to link the nuclear issue to other issues and expand it to an environment beyond the JCPOA members and the United States.
Karimi said: As a rule, Iran considered the statement in the paragraph related to human rights to contain content that interfered in the country's internal affairs, and at the same time, it repeated its usual positions in preparation for the JCPOA revival talks, but of course, simply expressing these positions and repeating them, whether from Iran's side or the other side, will not help much in resolving the issue. On the regional issue, Iran today responds with greater self-confidence to the positions of the political West because what it has in front of it is only Israel and not a bloc of Arab countries that take a position on Iran in an unwritten alliance with Tel Aviv.
He clarified: "That is why, as the positions of Iran and its regional allies are approaching those of Saudi Arabia and its regional allies, today it is Israel that needs to stabilize its position. Especially since today the Netanyahu government is also facing fundamental difficulties at home. However, since the text of the statement contains three basic points: nuclear, regional, and human rights; it seems that an attempt has been made to satisfy the pro-Israel lobbies to some extent with the text. At the same time, it should be noted that the statement does not directly mention Iran's missile activities, and what has been described as a cause for concern is the claim that these missiles are being transferred to regional proxy groups and delivered to Russia."
